Ultrasonography – Peripatetic Veterinary Ultrasound
Insight Veterinary Services offers peripatetic veterinary ultrasound services to practices within a 50-mile radius of South Somerset. Led by founder and veterinary surgeon Natasha Shanks, who completed a Master of Science in Imaging in 2020, the team provides advanced first-opinion ultrasound examinations directly within veterinary practices. This service allows in-house veterinary teams to focus on other duties while Insight’s specialists conduct comprehensive ultrasound assessments. Services include abdominal scans, non-cardiac thoracic evaluations, pregnancy confirmations, and ultrasound-guided procedures such as fine-needle aspirates and biopsies. The team is equipped with high-quality portable ultrasound machines to ensure optimal imaging results.
In addition to clinical services, Insight Veterinary Services is committed to education and professional development within the veterinary community. They offer continuing professional development (CPD) courses and in-practice training tailored to the needs of veterinary professionals. Courses cover topics ranging from beginner to advanced small animal abdominal ultrasound techniques and are held at venues like Hestercombe House & Gardens in Somerset. The organization also emphasizes environmental responsibility through its “Go Green” initiative, aiming to minimize the ecological impact of their operations.
